The
place is full of exotic views
images, impressions and panoramas.
The countless pagodas produce surrealistic scenery
in the dry and flat area, the right objects for
great photos. Especially in the early morning
and before sunset, these stunning visual impressions
are a feast for the eyes as seen in the following. |

Until recent days the pagoda and temple builder
of Myanmar or Burma have set continuously countless
pagodas and temples over a centuries-long period
into the landscape.
The main reason to
built the pagodas and temples is to accumulate merit
in the current life,
to be in a better position in the next life.
Many of the pagodas and temples of the past are
gone, some by earthquakes, others during the Monsoon
flood, but there are still more than enough for
stunning pics. All buildings are done in brick
construction and since the walls are not isolated
they are prone to decay because of the large amount
of rain during the Monsoon.
Great views and impressions
are also inside the buildings. Numerous murals adorn
the inner walls of the temples and pagodas along
with Buddha sculptures and images. The wall

paintings show mostly Jakata stories depicting the
life of Buddha. In Bagan and its environs are also
some Buddhist monasteries, showing magnificent wood
carvings mostly created from teak wood. All this
gives great pictures, similar
views can be found at
Ayutthaya
and
Sukhothai
in Thailand. |
