There is not only on pearl shop at the Bogyoke Market
Yangon.
There are around
a dozen and some are hidden. They are
divided into stores with high price pearls
such as a big Myanmar gold pearl of the
"South Sea Pearl" type plus big silver and
white pearls for jewelry, big in this context means
around at least up to around 12mm diameter.
Other shops deal
in mother of pearl items which is usually
jewelry and tableware such as plates, fork
spoon and knives, plus very pretty boxes
which could be used as jewelry boxes. It is
always amazing to see what items can be made
out of a certain raw material.
Other pearl
stores sell necklaces made from freshwater
pearls and cultures pearls, this are most
the same and amazingly low prices, just the
right gift |

to bring home to
the girls, different colors are available.
Many of this pearls are not exactly round, most are somehow
different than a perfect sphere, among them are also baroque pearls.

pearl shop and there is no cheating,
they tell immediately that

artificially made.
