Myanmar Timber - Teak Logs - Sawn Timber

T
imber from Myanmar ,lumber, information on Myanmar Burma Birma teak rosewood padauk timber, half finished product, lumber, timber from Myanmar.

-Timber is one of the main export items in Myanmar,

there are continuous efforts to build up a down - stream timber industry but for this it needs investment and this is done only on small scale.

- Many timber - lumber like teak, padauk / rosewood, ironwood etc.

and pine trees from the Himalayas in the north are exported. Unfortunately far to many Chinese companies are cutting the trees on the Himalayan foots to get timber for quick profit.

In many areas in the north all trees are gone, no timber left, the Chinese have a endless appetite for timber and no one cares what's coming afterwards.

Since the Chinese government ban cutting trees in most of China due to continuous ecological disaster like landslides, flashfloods etc. the Chinese people flood the neighboring countries with a quick hit and run tactic for timber - lumber. In most places on the edges of the Himalayas which are not accessible by road no tree is left, all cut, hit and run.

The only areas with a somehow protection are the places where there are no roads to carry the timber away.
