A new destination on Myanmar's tourism map, Ngwe Saung (Silver Beach) offers its visitors unspoiled beaches and tranquility on the coast of the Indian Ocean. A few entrepreneurs have begun developing accommodation for local and foreign visitors. The destination is still in its early stages of this development process. Ngwe Saung can be reached by car from the capital Yangon in approximately seven hours. The journey takes travelers on a partly bumpy and pot-holed road across the alluvial Ayeyarwaddy Delta region. As an alternative to road travel, it is now possible to travel from Yangon to the Pathein River by boat, a journey of approximately 16 hours through picturesque scenery, passing homesteads and typical villages dotted along the riverbanks. Countless larger and smaller tributaries interconnect the vast and fertile Ayeyarwaddy Delta; it is an ideal area for rice cultivation. Ngwe Saung Beach, as the latest emerging beach destination in Myanmar, is a jewel for independent travelers seeking nothing more but quietude, seashore and the ocean.

The river vessel "RV Bha Nyar Latt", or the "Delta Queen", is an ideal and reliable means of transport to ply the waterways of the Ayeyarwaddy Delta region. The 45-meter-long ship was recently refurbished with the focus on transporting leisure travelers. There are 12 standard twin cabins with air-conditioning on the upper deck. Washrooms are detached.

Yangon - "Delta Queen" (-/-/D)

DAY 1 FRI: In the afternoon transfer from hotel to Nan Thida Jetty, opposite the famed Strand Hotel in historic downtown Yangon. Board the "Delta Queen" and depart via Twante for TALAKWA. Twante is noted for its pottery and cotton weaving, situated at the TWANTE CANAL, which was dug to provide a shortcut across the AYEYARWADDY DELTA during the time of British rule in Myanmar. Enjoy a "sundowner" as the night sets in. Dinner and overnight on board. Sail throughout the night

Talakwa - Ngwe Saung Beach (B/-/-) 

DAY 2 SAT: Early "morning tea" at dawn; do not miss this sunrise spectacular! Breakfast is served on board. Absorb the magnificent green delta scenery. Arrival at TALAKWA jetty. The final stretch of the journey is made by car in approximately 45 minutes to NGWE SAUNG BEACH. Check-in at the hotel. Remainder of the day at leisure on the beach. Overnight at The Palm Beach Resort.

DAY 3 SUN: Full day at leisure.
Overnight at The Palm Beach Resort.

Ngwe Saung Beach - Yangon (B/-/-)

DAY 4 MON: Morning at leisure. At noon depart by coach for Yangon. Arrive in Yangon in the evening.

Extension nights at Ngwe Saung Beach can be added to the above package.
